'(비록) ~이지만/~일지라도'의 although 와 though, even though 는 모두 대조적인 상황을 표현할 때 사용됩니다. 비슷한 의미를 갖고 있다 보니 사용시 혼동되곤 하는데 어떤 차이가 있는지 알아보겠습니다.
접속사 although와 though는 대부분의 경우에서 서로 교환적으로(interchangeably) 사용할 수 있습니다.
다만, though는 구어체에 더 많이 사용되며 though가 부사로 사용될 때는 although로 대체해 사용할 수 없습니다.

(밖이 매우 추울지라도(춥지만) 그는 나가기를 원한다.)
- Though you think it is very important, it is not the right time to do it.

(네가 그게 중요하다고 생각할지라도 그것을 하기에 적절한 시기는 아니다.)
- She is not very attractive. She is smart, though.

(그녀는 매혹적이진 않다. 그녀는 똑똑하다, 그렇지만(그럴지라도).)
Even though는 though의 강조형으로 사용할 수 있습니다. even(심지어, ~조차)이 들어가면서 "(심지어) ~이어도 / (심지어) ~일지라도"의 의미가 됩니다.
- Even though they had studied very hard, they didn't pass the exam.
((심지어) 그들이 꽤 열심히 공부했음에도 그들은 시험을 통과하지 못했다.)
